Funny: Our branch mission leader uses the word quagmire in
his regular speech on a daily basis. I don't even think he knows he's doing it.
It doesn't always make sense, but it's pretty funny.
Spiritual: This week as I was studying the scriptures there
was a particular verse that really touched my heart that I would love to share
with all of you. 2 Nephi 33:10 "And now, my beloved brethren, and also
Jew, and all ye ends of the earth, hearken unto these words and believe in
Christ; and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ. And if ye shall
believe in Christ ye will believe in these words, for they are the words of
Christ, and he hath given them unto me; and they teach all men that they should
do good." The book of Mormon contains the true words of Christ. The only
way to know that is by reading it and feeling the Holy Ghost confirm to you
that it is true. I have experienced that confirmation time and time again. I
know that if anyone will read this book and ask God, in the name of Christ, if
it is true with a sincere heart, and real intent having faith in Christ you
will know that it is true by the power of the Holy Ghost. I invite everyone
reading this to have faith in Christ, have faith that he loves you, and that he
is there for you. You can grow that faith by reading the Book of Mormon and
praying sincerely to know if it is true.
Where I am at: It is starting to turn to fall here. It's
very pretty. The Black Hills are a beautiful place, full of amazing people. I
am very grateful to be here. Everyone in our branch is so grateful to finally
have missionaries here they all help us in our work so much! There is a lot of
work to be done here, we find ourselves doing a lot of service as well.
Sometimes in these really small rural places there are people who are suffering
who don't have access to the help they need. We do our best to help in any way
every person we find. My hope is that, if nothing else, Sister Archibald and I
will be able to bring joy even if only for a while into the lives of the people
we meet. I have truly learned in the Dakotas of all places how to love others
the way Jesus Christ loves us.
Thank you all so much for all that you do for me. I
appreciate you all! The Church is true, the book is blue, God loves you, and I
do too. :)
