Funny: This week's funny paragraph is the kind of funny
where I’m laughing on the outside, but crying on the inside. It snowed this
week. I was not emotionally, nor physically prepared for it. My teeth start
chattering at about 45 degrees or so. Pretty soon the warmest it will be here
is 32. Teaching people the gospel with my teeth chattering is apparently pretty
comical. My hope is the Lord will bless me and help me acclimate to South Dakota
winters. Hopefully I don't get transferred north this winter. Only time will
tell. If anyone was thinking about sending me a package for Christmas, I
wouldn't say no to stuff that keeps me warm! š
Spiritual: Elder Taylor came to our mission this week and
motivated and inspired us so much! The Spirit was strong when he spoke. Some of
the major things I took away from it was it is impossible to love others too
much. When we love God first the love for others and ourselves falls into place
right after it. Every single individual no matter who they are or how they
appear are beloved sons and daughters of our loving Heavenly Father. Happiness
cannot be found within ourselves. If we are constantly looking inward trying to
find how "I" can benefit what do "I" need to do to be
happy, we won’t find anything. Happiness cannot be found within because others
are our source of joy. When we turn outwards to love, help, and support people,
only then we ourselves will experience happiness. Our Heavenly Father loves us
so incomprehensibly much, and as we love him back, the love we feel for others
will increase and be present always.
Where I'm at: Hot Springs is doing great! So is Custer,
Buffalo Gap, Edgemont, Pringle, Oelrich, Hermosa, and all the other little
towns in our area! After this week I feel it deep in my bones that this area is
going to flourish! The people are so amazing, and so many of them are reaching
out and looking for Jesus Christ in their lives. I feel so much love for all of
them! I can't wait to see how much they grow! š
