Funny: I thought I knew what cold was, I thought I knew what
snow was. I will never complain about cold and snow again! The snow banks on every
street are about 4-6 feet tall! When its -30 but the suns out and the wind
chill isn't too bad it feels pretty nice out. Today it was only negative 12, so
I just wore a light jacket. I have never seen so much snow in my life, I didn't
know it was possible. Also, we found a Book of Mormon costume in our
apartment...
Spiritual: Last Sunday, I fasted and prayed with all my
energy that my new trainee, and I could find 5 new people to teach this last
week in this area we are opening. On Saturday there was a terrible blizzard,
and we had only found 1 person so far. We were determined to find more people
to teach, so we got on our knees and prayed for him to lead us and guide us to
people who are prepared. And we were led by the spirit to find 5 people who were
extremely prepared to receive the gospel while tracting in a blizzard! They
were all humbly searching for the truth, and it was amazing to see how much
prayer truly works, and the Lord truly does hasten his work in His time!
Where I'm at: On Wednesday I moved to Fargo North Dakota!
Sister Thompson has had a great first week in the field. We have seen miracle
upon miracle every day! Every time we get stuck in the Snow (which happened
many times) we were able to get ourselves out, or someone helped us. Fargo is a
great area! I was worried to be moving to the biggest city in the mission, but
I love it! A lot of the people here are immigrants and refugees from Africa,
Nepal, and other countries that struggle with poverty. The people are so
humble, and haven't already decided what they know is true and not true. They
are willing to ask God what is true. I love them SO much! And I love all of
you!
