Funny: This week was full of fun times and laughs. One funny
story involves the fact that we had our first snow of the season this week.
Remember the talk in conference that was talking about Ether 6 and how the wind
never did cease to blow them, and they were tempest tossed, but all along the
wind was blowing them towards their promised land? Well we experienced that
this week quite literally! Because of this big snow blizzard up here in the
Dakotas one morning when we went out the entire parking lot was a sheet of ice.
To get to our car in our garage, we had to walk across. Well when we stepped
onto the ice hanging onto each other for dear life "a furious wind did
blow upon the face of the land" and literally blew us to our car. So, I am
here to say that the words of the prophets, and apostles do come to pass!
Spiritual: This week many mighty miracles were brought to
pass in this land. And as it often does it all started with sincere prayer. We
pleaded with the Lord that we would be able to know his will for us, and the
people here in Pierre. We asked that he would help us accomplish the goals we
set acknowledging that we can do nothing without his help, and then we promised
that we would be exactly obedient, and work our very hardest to bring to pass
his work. Then the miracles started rolling in. This one young family we have
been teaching, aren't married yet, and we taught them about the law of
chastity, baptism, and eternal families. The next day, Margaret messaged us
saying that they talked after we left and they are planning on getting married,
and asked if we would be their bridesmaids! Then that same day Brother Williams
messaged us and told us that his daughter asked if she could be baptized, and
if we could start teaching her. THEN, at church, 5 young people who are not
baptized, but who are children of returning members, came to church for the
first time, and we set up return appointments with all of them to teach them!
AND we got to see Sammi enter the waters of baptism. It was just amazing to see
how the Lord brings his work to pass, and if we will be worthy and willing, we
get to be a part of it!
Where I'm at: I love Pierre! I love Sister Astle! I love
training! I love my mission! AND I love my life! So things are pretty great.
I'm very grateful that I get to sojourn here in mortality, and see what good I
can do in the world. I'm grateful for the love I have received. Most of all I'm
grateful for the love I’ve been able to give.
Ofa lahi atu!
