Well my cooking skills came in handy this week for
thanksgiving! We hosted thanksgiving at the church and invited people from the
community who didn't have anywhere to go for thanksgiving. We found new people
to teach, and I made SO many mashed potatoes and rolls, and Turkey, and pie.
The Senior Sisters did stuffing and more Turkey, and yams. It was really fun! I
love cooking for big groups. ALSO I got interviewed by two different news
places this week! One in Sioux falls and another in Pierre just for all the
volunteering we have been doing with feeding South Dakota and the other
churches around town. They quoted me in the newspaper! So that was pretty
cool.
I got to watch Lijah and Margaret be married on
Sunday! It was amazing! It was supposed to be Saturday, but a huge and terrible
blizzard came through, and snowed a few feet on us so we had to postpone it to
Sunday. They even had to cancel church because of the snow so it was a huge
miracle that they were able to be married. She felt so discouraged because
there were many things that seemed to be trying to stop them from getting
married so we shared this scripture with her. "And if thou shouldst be
cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death
passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge
conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens
gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above
all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know
thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be
for thy good...Therefore, fear not what man can do, for God shall be with you
forever and ever." D&C 122:7,9 I know faith can overcome all doubt and
fear. I am so grateful to see them married now. They are both so excited to be
baptized and sealed in the temple a year from now. I love them so much! ❤
I'm still loving my companion. And of course, Pierre! I wish
I could stay and serve forever! I love these people SO much! And I am very
grateful to be a part of their lives!
Ofa' lahi atu!!!
