A New Adventure Awaits

Image
Funny: This week was full of funny moments. Playing volleyball at the MTC is always really funny because we all get way too into it. Probably the weirdest thing that happened this week is one of the elders wrote an elaborate silly escape plan on a sticky note because he was bored and then ate it to "get rid of the evidence". Sometimes the elders make me laugh and other times they make me embarrassed on their behalf. Spiritual: On Tuesday we had a devotional and the first counselor in the general Relief Society presidency was our speaker. She gave a really good talk. She talked a lot about our potential. We all have the ability to have eternal life with our father in heaven and eternal progression. The first step towards that is growing our faith by putting our trust in God. He will love us us, strengthen us, and help us all we have to do is let him. Where I am at: My ankle is much better it's almost totally healed! The fact that it healed so fast is definitely a...

Beware of the Spike

Funny: My entire district is hilarious. I was kind of under the impression that missionaries are more mature, and less silly than other young adults. But I was wrong they are still silly and funny. To name a few of the funny thing this week: one of the elders made up a rap about missionary work, and he is this farm boy from a tiny country town and has the shyest, quiet voice so hearing him try to rap is quite amusing. One of my roommates keeps jumping out and scaring me at random times, and I jump scare so easily and quite often I will either fall down or get into a defensive ninja position. One of the elders was dared to jump head first into a trash can which surprisingly he did. Hopefully by the time they get on the mission field they will have slightly better judgement.  Spiritual: I got to listen to the talk Character of Christ on Sunday by Elder Bednar. I learned so much in that talk. The most important thing I got from it is that to become more like Christ we need...

The MTC is a Wonderful Place

Funny: On the first night at the MTC my companion, the other two sisters we are sharing our room with and I were talking about what we were going to miss the most. Most of us said that we were going to miss our family, one of them said they were going to miss their dog. When it came to my companion she expressed how much she was going to miss the Kardashians. She said you know you are going to see your family again, but i'm not so sure about the Kardashians. I love my companion she is hilarious.  Spiritual: Being here I have learned that our purpose as missionaries is to invite others to develop a relationship with Christ. I have felt my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ growing since I've been here. I have also felt the love that they have for me, and I have felt that same love for those around me. I feel the same way that Nephi felt in the scriptures: My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions and he hath preserved me. He hat...
