Funny: Our Thanksgiving was a blast! I got to help cook a lot of Thanksgiving since Sister Manning (the member we are staying with) was hosting Thanksgiving dinner for all of the people in our branch that didn't already have plans. So, I got to cook and bake some more pies which was so fun! Also, a really kind member of my ward back home sent some pretty awesome hats to me and my companion for thanksgiving! It's not every day you see a sister missionary with a turkey on their head. Spiritual: My testimony of hope has grown this week. We cannot have faith without hope. No matter what circumstances we may be in we can choose to have hope. With that choice comes more joy than we can imagine!  Where I'm at: it's getting colder and snowier every day. Sister 'Eliesa's uncle sent us matching hats to keep warm in! Pretty soon here President Howell is going to have us take over Hot Springs and Custer again. That will be fun, I kind of miss splitting our time be...

Funny: I can't really think of anything super funny this week so instead I will tell you about apple pie. One of the members of our branch has an apple orchard, and gave us two giant boxes of apples last Sunday! So last Monday I made a few apple pies from scratch. Which was very fun, since I've never baked homemade apple pies before! We have a big family home evening group we started in Custer last Monday, and when everyone came, I was taking my homemade apple pies out of the oven wearing a handstitched apron. I felt so homely! Thankfully they turned out Really good! And I was able to save one in the freezer to contribute to thanksgiving. Spiritual: One of the days I had this week reminded me a lot of Alma 31. We had a lesson in the early afternoon with a sweet old couple I was very excited to teach! When we got there the husband had looked up a bunch of anti-Mormon stuff online. He just yelled about all the reasons we shouldn't believe in what we do. This caused me to...

Funny: Because my poor little Tongan companion is not used to this cold South Dakota winter (nor am I I'm afraid) her knuckles dry so bad they crack and bleed. The other day someone asked her "oh no what happened to you hands!?" She said "It's fine it's just from beating up my companion all day." "Oh alright then." She makes me laugh! 😄   Spiritual: This week we were out knocking on doors, and this really sweet old couple opened up the door, and let us in. Sometimes Heavenly Father helps me to see people the way he sees them, with infinite potential and worth. Meeting them, I felt like I saw them as they really are, children of God. We taught them about Jesus Christ's restored gospel, and we all felt the spirit. They invited us to come back often. I am so grateful to feel the love that God has for us, I know it to be true. Where I'm at: Custer is beautiful despite the cold. Sister Eliesa and I are the two sisters in our missi...

Funny: In Custer South Dakota right now since its politics season there are people who go knocking on doors to share their political opinions. So, the other day while we were doing scripture study some political people came a'knockin at our door. When we opened the door, I said "Hi we are missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, usually we are the ones knocking, but now that we have you here can we share a message with you about Jesus Christ?" They politely declined, but it was nice having people knock on our door for a change 😄 Spiritual: This Sunday was our regional stakes conference. So it was a broadcast for the whole region. Jeffrey R Holland was one of the speakers. They spoke a lot about the importance of "gathering Israel" or in other words sharing Christ's message with the world. I have felt of the importance of sharing the gospel with others. I have seen it change lives including my own. I will share the good news of...
