Funny: This last Sunday in one of the small branches near our area they usually have a very small turn out for church, but they were setting apart the new branch president and so there were more people than expected. They ran out of bread for passing the sacrament. There was none left in their very small one room building. So, they went out and came back and blessed and passed some skittles one of the Deacons had. It just goes to show "it mattereth not what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink when ye partake of the sacrament, if it so be that ye do it with an eye single to my glory remembering unto the father my body and blood which was shed for the remission of your sins." D&C27:2 Spiritual: I got to experience a tender moment this week. Margaret and L'Ijah have four really cute kids that are 4,3,2, and 1. We have been teaching their family how to pray and inviting them to pray together more. Kahliyah (the four-year-old) at our last lesson offered to say the cl...

Funny: Having been on a mission for a while now sometimes I just get super tired! Well there was a day this week where we were going around trying people. I was very tired for some reason, and due to this as I was walking, I tripped on the sidewalk and fell super dramatically. I just laid there for a second on the sidewalk because I was so tired. My companions were laughing so hard. My leg got pretty scraped up, but it was honestly really funny! Spiritual: Margaret and Elijah (two of the people we are teaching) they are getting baptized the weekend before I go home, and getting married before that! They asked us to be their bridesmaids and we are extremely excited for them. I love them so much; they have become some of my dear friends! There is a very meaningful phrase in Lakota: Mitakuye Oyas'in. They are words of prayer, It means all my relatives. It acknowledges our spiritual connection to all others and our need to help one another. If we think and act as family to all ot...

Funny: Our mission President is very big on us going to events and such to talk to people in normal and natural ways. So, we decided to go to the Walmart ribbon cutting! They have been remodeling it for the past few months, and it is the only descent store for miles and miles. Honestly one of the best places we are able to meet new people and start teaching them is good ol' wally world!  Spiritual: We had Emma's baptism this week it was SO special! Her dad was converted and baptized about 2 years ago now, and she has been wanting to do the same ever since. Her mom wasn't too keen about it though, but now we are teaching her mom and all of her siblings! I love watching families come unto Christ SO much! There is a quote in Preach My Gospel that says "Heaven is a continuation of the ideal family." I cherish those hopes of being able to live with my family forever, and it makes me overjoyed helping other families do the same! Where I'm at: We got our transf...

Funny: This week was Halloween as I'm sure you know! There was a branch trunk or treat, that we attended with a bunch of the people we are teaching. We dressed up as the Book of Mormon and the Bible, because they go together. Everyone really liked our costumes! Then we also got to have zone P-day this week, and we all carved pumpkins together. Most people did a face of some sort, that's typically what you do when you carve pumpkins, but since I figured this will probably be the only pumpkin I ever carve on a mission, might as well make it a spiritual pumpkin. So, I decided to carve out the plan of salvation in my pumpkin spelling out the word love. Then we brought it to a lesson later that week, and taught them the plan of salvation using my pumpkin, and then we gave it to them! It was awesome! Spiritual: This week yet again our prayers were answered. The Lord always does that. It is so kind of Him. We had been praying hard and working hard to find at least 3 new people to ...
